Program Overview

Your Open Campus Block in London situates you in one of the world's most influential global cities, known for its history, cultural diversity, and dynamic pace, while allowing you to design an experience that aligns with your academic interests and personal goals. You'll enroll in CIEE courses and online courses taught through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities might include exploring iconic landmarks like the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, discovering world-class museums such as the British Museum or Tate Modern, and experiencing the city's vibrant theater scene in the West End. London offers a setting where global culture, history, and contemporary life come together in constantly evolving ways.

Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in London will open doors for you to explore England's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.    

Samples of excursions and activities: 

  • Explore Oxford or Cambridge with walking tours through some of the famous beautiful colleges 
  • Tour London’s world-class art galleries, from The National Gallery to Tate Modern where you can see art by international contemporary artists 
  • Learn about the legacies of post-colonialism with a visit to the Museum of London’s Sugar exhibition

Academics

CIEE London: Study in the Bloomsbury district, one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods set in the academic and literary heart of the city. CIEE London features classrooms, a student lounge, a library, a study space, a student life office, an academic advising office, a café, and a garden terrace.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

Internships

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
