CIEE Legal Studies Program in Madrid, Spain

As an undergraduate, gaining knowledge and experience in the field of law, government and political science can be a challenging task. CIEE's Legal and Political Studies program in Madrid offers the chance to examine the relationships between law, political science, and human rights in the capital of Spain, one of the largest country member of the European Union,. Through coursework offered in English and Spanish, site visits, an internship in your field of interest, and volunteer opportunities, you'll gain new perspectives, develop skills in critical analysis, and acquire unique, professional, international experience.

Madrid offers a wide range of opportunities for students wanting to explore many of the country´s Spanish institutions (such as the Royal residence, the Congress, the Senate and the Supreme Court. Participants can experience first hand several of thethe local dynamics of significant national and sociopolitical movements of Spain's complex political map.

Study abroad in Madrid and you'll:

  • Take regular university courses in law and political science with Spanish undergraduate students
  • Participate actively in the Association for the United Nations and International Law with other international students learning the dynamics of international organizations
  • Through CIEE courses, extend your knowledge of the Spanish, EU and U.S. legal systems
  • Continue learning outside the classroom through activities such as visits to Spanish courts, government institutions, and other sites of interest for students interested in law and politics
